Serie de 24 mujeres (mediana 58 años) tratadas con una instilación semanal de Instylan® durante 8 semanas, frente a un grupo control de 20 mujeres tratadas con fosfomicina 3 g semanal durante 2 meses. Al término del tratamiento, 20 pacientes refirieron satisfacción y mejoría clínica con urocultivo negativo a los 3 meses; 4 recayeron (Klebsiella y E. coli). Sin hematuria ni efectos sistémicos; un caso de estranguria inicial. A los 12 meses: 16 pacientes del grupo Instylan® sin recaída, frente a 15 recaídas en el grupo de fosfomicina. Los autores concluyen que hace falta un estudio multicéntrico contra placebo para obtener datos estadísticamente significativos.

Observación preliminar del mismo grupo, con 12 mujeres tratadas con Instylan® frente a 10 con fosfomicina. 10 de 12 con mejoría clínica y urocultivo negativo a 3 meses; 2 recaídas. Mejoría significativa de la capacidad vesical; impresión global de mejoría positiva en el 70%. Es el antecedente directo del trabajo presentado en ICS 2024 y sirve para mostrar la consistencia de la señal en dos cortes distintos.
